Andrew's Bio

Football has always been a huge part of my life and writing here on Bleacher Report is a huge pleasure. As the community leader of the World Football section for the last 10 months or so, I've seen it grow from the English Premier League section into the global debate it is today.

I'm proud of the role I played in that transition and will continue to support our good friend Salaar as he aims to take us further.

I've recently returned to Scotland from South Africa after 10 years in the football mad continent. I've been around professional football at many levels in South Africa but now persue a career writing about the beautiful game.

I also spent plenty of time at St Georges Park, Port Elizabeth working with some of the best cricketers in the world.

I'm presently continuing my BA Journalism degree at the University of the West of Scotland.

Welcome to Bleacher Report and I hope you enjoy my work!

  6. No offence or anything, but yes you're not very good in the game. Still, you made it as a pro, even if it was in the lower levels. Wish I was that good...

  7. No problem. I thought I had added you weeks ago to be honest haha. I realized I hadn't when I was reading your Russian league article. Very interesting by the way.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm enjoying my time and helping the Italian section grow!

  8. I found your player persona in FM 2008, a striker for PE Tech.

  9. Hey,

What would you rather see - your country lift the World Cup, or your club lift the Champions League? What is more important to you club or country? Join the Great Debate!

  10. Andrew,

Although my play-by-play doesn't show it, I've got a new fan and I'm pretty sure it's you so I'm dropping a thank you. The fan add in return isn't just a gimme either - I liked that SA v. Australia rugby article; played a little in college so I have an interest there and I liked your even yet honest assessment of both sides.

Afraid I'm the typical American who only pays attention to soccer during the World Cup - although my younger sister started for 3 years at Berkeley so I've actually watched quite a bit of women's soccer live. And I actually watch a UEAFA champions league tilt every so often - not enough to make any sort of claim though.

Anyway, thanks for the add (proof-reading this kind of makes me feel like I'm writing to myself).

    Andrew
