JJ's Bio

Hey, I'm JJ—but you knew that when you clicked on my profile.

I'm a journalism student in the "land of too many journalists"—also known as the University of Missouri in beautiful Columbia, MO. Fight Tigers!

I'm the Chicago White Sox Community Leader here and follow the South Siders closely (look at how my articles are divided up and you'll see), but I'm also a fan of baseball in general.

In addition to writing for Bleacher Report, I'm also writing a national sports column for The Maneater, Mizzou's student newspaper.

I also am the Chicago White Sox writer for www.examiner.com. Check out my stuff here:

If you want to get in contact with me, shoot me an e-mail at jjsmmf@mizzou.edu. As Hawk Harrelson says, "I loooooove E-mail."

  1. Just a note to all community leaders. I'm trying to collect e-mails. I have most of them from when we did the awards, but If it's changed since then, or you are new to the team, make sure we're cool on the e-mail.

With Free Agency starting tomorrow, we should probably be thinking offseason plans. I encourage everyone to put up some sort of preview for their own team. Highlight some needs, maybe look at who your team has on the market, or potential targets. If enough people get in on it, I'll post a collective article to highlight everyone's work.

If your a new community leader, welcome aboard. If you've been around, make sure you go around, become a fan of some of the other CL's and support each other. We're a team here!

good on e-mails JJ, but there is no Carrol in HR.

I just got a great new writer: http://bleacherreport.com/users/62318-Ian-Devine

I'm hoping you can befriend him and keep encouraging him to write, he's good!

  4. I'm official. Apparently, being a gangsta chimp doesn't prevent someone from passing a criminal background check... :)

  6. Hey, the Examiner thing looks good.

So long as I pass the "criminal background check", I'm in as their Patriots writer.

Played phone-tag for about a week, but spoke to the guy tonight (FYI- we actually talked about you on the call...I mentioned I had emailed you to ask about the site, he said you were a perfect example of exactly what you're looking for).

If you have any pointers, let me know. Pretty excited...

  7. JJ - Thanks for everything you've done this season, sorry it had to end on a down note, but like you said, the White Sox over achieved this year..You can't be mad about that. AND at least youve got the Tigers to root for!
