Julianna's Bio

My name is Julianna. I'm eighteen years old and I am currently attending a junior college, no major in mind yet.

I have been watching NASCAR and any other type of auto racing since I was little. Although, NASCAR is the only auto racing that I relentlessly follow. From 2001 to the beginning of the 2007 season, I only caught a few races and I never had a favorite driver. But on August 12th, 2007, during the Nextel Cup race at Watkins Glen, something - well, actually, someone - re-sparked my interest in this wonderful sport.

I had been keeping my eye on a certain black car the entire race. The No. 11 FedEx Chevrolet of Denny Hamlin. As I was watching the last few laps of the race, hoping that someone other than Jeff Gordon was going to win (never had a favorite driver, but I have always disliked Gordon), Gordon spun himself out with two laps to go and Tony Stewart took the lead. After that, I didn't even care what Stewart was doing, I just wanted Hamlin to finish in second, right where he started.

To my surprise, I got my wish. Carl Edwards, the current second place holder, missed the turn and went sliding into the gravel, leaving Hamlin to gain his spot. I was beyond excited now, as I watched Tony and Denny come home one, two.

After the all the celebrating and interviewing was over, I went on-line and researched as much as I could about Denny, Tony, the entire Gibbs organization, and NASCAR in general.

And as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Although, when exactly I became a Kyle Busch fan is still unknown, even to me. Here's my best explanation on the matter: it just happened. KB did something last season that I, evidently, just loved - no questions asked. I can say, however, that I love Kyle today for his sarcasm, his personality, and most of all: his raw talent. You can stick that boy in any type of vehicle and he'll drive the wheels right off it - love that!

Also, I have said this many times before and I'll say it again, just so we're clear: That boy was born to make history. There's no denying that.

Anyway, I have been in love with writing since seventh grade. I love writing anything - short stories, lyrics, poems, random thoughts, and, obviously, articles. I'm sure I'll be writing plenty of articles on here, so just sit back and have a read with one of them. Don't be afraid to comment either - I love feedback.

  11. Hey Julianna:

I just took a risk and posted a new article under the NFL community as well as NASCAR, since they were both applicable. Those NFL-ers might eat me alive for straying into forbidden territory, so help a girl out by showing a little NASCAR love!

    Thanks!

  12. Just wanted to let you know that a community has been started for Scott "Speed Demon" and hope you check it out. Feel free to write for the community and leave comments on thearticles written about this rather colorful guy.

  13. Thanks about the Sprague release, I already have a article written about it and will be in my weekly Craftsman Update that I'm publishing later today. It was a slow week in CTS, so I just stuck it in my Update rather than a separate article.

    Take Care,

    Mike

  14. Thank you Julianna for the nice comment, I appreciate it SO much!!! You are doing an awesome job, I am loving your articles, so please keep up the great work!!

  15. good catch on the fedex typo on my part. and thanks for the feedback on the verb-adverb ordering. i understand completely. i often go back after someone edits and find that the "particular word usement i structured" has been altered and in doing so, the editor killed the imagery, the rhythm and flow, the alliteration, or the parallelism i wanted to highlight or to minimize, whichever.

i'm glad to hear you liked the headline and i hope the reformatting into shorter sentences didn't make it too choppy for you. i love complex sentences myself, but have found that most other people often get lost when there are too many clauses separated by commas, semi-colons, and/or dashes for them to keep track of. damn, i ended a sentence with a preposition there... ;-)

i don't know when i will write another article. i thought about writing a quickie on jack sprague being released from khi in the truck series. i couldn't believe it when i saw it on nascar.com. i don't think anyone's written about it yet, so if you'd like, take the idea and run with it. all the info comes from a team release so it's pretty much fair game.

i've been "ordered" to focus on a couple of personal tasks and until they are done, i'm doing my best to limit my extracurricular activities. so if you don't want to write the story, can you pass it on to s.m.

thanks and good job once again on the article, and on your bio.
