Miah! That's a great idea! I was sitting here drawing a bracket seeing it'll be odd, but having the top 5 and then the next highest voted on go on to a Round of 6 works. Good idea. Yeah sorry I was a little anxious to get this going I just published it pretty quick, but they're in.

I'm a little scared if Price doesn't start, but I think it'll just make him see he needs to get his stuff together. I thought it was an entire team effort to lose 6-1 to Boston but he wasn't that great either. Thornton's goal early was brutal as were all the goals. But he needs a better team to play in front of him too.

Halak in net? Yeah, I don't know. The Habs do well against Philly in the regular season but not in the playoffs...I think Carbo is a little impatient with Carey. Giving Jaro another chance to prove himself. If he gets the win, maybe they'll be another start for him really soon.

I don't want to sound like a frustrated fan, but I've been preaching conspiracy for years since the lockout...I think this adds to my theory if the starting roster for the East is six Canadiens...not saying they don't deserve it, but I think you can agree that Komisarek is not the second best defenseman in the Eastern Conference.

I'm doin' great albeit a little tired. I travel a lot for work and I'm in Germany right now. That means watching the game on my computer at 100am till about 400! It was worth it last night though! Your boy Price did gooood! As did the whole team.

Probably you are right about the suspension. I don't know a lot about Kostopolous, but I have heard he is not a dirty player- hey, accidents do happen, and not to blame the victim, but from what I have heard the last few days, players these days are not protecting themselves the way they used to- back in the no helmets, no masks, everything goes days- a bit before your time. As for the all star game, thanks for asking, but I am such a die hard Leaf Fan and of course Canada fan in international tournaments that I don't give a lot of thought to many of the other aspects of the game. Keep on writing!

What a game is right. I was at my buddy's and he's a Leafs fans so we watched them come back from 2-0 down to win 5-2. He was rubbing it in my face and then they showed the highlights and I rubbed it right back in his face, haha. The New York teams have trouble putting us down eh?

Yeah I like that idea. You could make it like a playoff like they've done with logos and have a winner or best nickname.

Hi Miah! OMG! Can you believe it! If there existed a DVD that said: Best 20 minutes ever played in 100 years, today's game would be in it! WOW...MY heart is still beating so hard and I literally lost my voice screaming! Price came up big on that last stretch....How many 21 year-old who got scored 4 against (one that you really oculd have stopped and dissapointed you) would still hang in there and come up that big? Carey Price would be an exception. Remember the COMEBACK NIGHT against the Rangers? Well back then...Price was pulled! Well..times changes...I still can'T believe...my heart is pounding so fast! I agree, it's something about playing past players, like John Leclair, Patrick Roy, or Mark Recchi, they always get the upper hand. But it's only Yann Danis, but he'll still put up a larger than normal fight.

On the Shanahan topic, I'm not so sure he is the right fit for the team at the moment. I have a feeling he will kind of be the loner veteran who is left aside. Not as bad as Briseboi but he would appear displaced in the Habs' line-up. He is a good player but I don't he is that desperate to be willing to play on the 3rd line. So, it's a NO-NO for me! Having Shanahan with the Habs, would certainly bring some experience; but I don't think he would fit in well with the team. Montreal is all about being fast and able to creat chances. But Shanahan still uses his old methods, and he doesn't skate that fast. He's just not the right guy, and for all i know, our team is very strong offensively, so all he'd do is take the place of a player who's playing well at this moment. Lastly, i wouldn't think that he would signh a $1 million contract, $2.5 million minimum. I like how Richard thinks, but again, it's a personal opinion.

I think having Shannahan would be great!! Did he not say before that he would like to play for the Habs? I'm sure he would not enjoy 3rd line, but it would be a start. And the Habs do have more than 2 good lines out on the ice...

By the way, like I said, I am working on the other 80 moments/people. If I wasn't caught up with school I'd have all 5 parts done fast!

I'm pretty sure the Mair thing is over and done with. It was stupid, but that's OK. It shouldn't be a distraction. AND, we are getting Gaustad back tonight, and Tallinder skated too (he won't be back tonight).

They've got a long stretch of no games next week - Tuesday through Thursday off, so that should give out guys some time to get healthy.

I'll be vegged out in front of the TV tonight, happily watching :)

I think Miller's going it; Lalime played against Ottawa Monday night. Miller's supposed to get 60 starts, and Lalime 20 (apparently, we're going goalie-less for two games).

We've got the Caps saturday and the devils Monday - my guess is we won't see him until Friday or Saturday against Atlanta or Boston.

I'm sick of always having a scapegoat for problems in Montreal, but that's the reality of playing and cheering for Les Canadiens.

AK46 will be a welcome addition back. It's just great to know that Tanguay is producing again and that Koivu is producing again too. If both lines start going, then look out!

I'm still bummed that Chipchura isn't up with the big team. He played so well against Florida. Guess it's just 'cause he's my favourite player that I care so much.

I have been working on a piece for a while about Stefan Legein, what he most likely went through, and basically a hugely controversial article about how Major Juniors, the ISS, and the NHL could be ruining hockey for players. As a top writer for the NHL section, I would love your input on this. If you could, just email me a paragraph or two or ten (however much you would like to write) about the pressures on kids playing hockey now and trying to get to the NHL, and your opinion about everything having to do with that.

Halak didn't do his part I thought. He was just off tonight. It's hard when the goalie's off, 'cause the Habs can score and make up for it, like they did in the first with two answering goals, but when the pucks keep going in, then it doesn't help.

It's just a lull in the season, Price didn't start and he could have played better if he wasn't sick. But in all fairness, the Ducks did play a relentless forechecking game and smart defensive zone coverage. They've got big bodies in front of Giguere...who, by the way, looks like a tank or Godzilla in net. Is he legal?

I'm multi-tasking 8^D There's about 8 minutes left in the 3rd with the score tied at 10. I knew it would be a close game.

It's a lot easier to hang out here and watch football than doing it while watching hockey.

BTW - my buddy Dr. D just had some lower level tix for the Monday night Kings-Red Wings game fall into his lap. Gotta love that when it happens.

It sounds strange, but I don't mind it. Jason Blake has to learn how to score, and this may just be a move to light a fire under him. As far as replacing Toskala in the shootout, there are two things on my mind with that:

A) I love that Wilson has the balls to do this in Toronto. Whether it's the right move or not, he's willing to stick his own neck out there and not worried about getting chopped up in the media, and that's an attitude that can rub off on the players which they definitely need.

B) I'm on and off with the move itself. On one hand, you're risking the game on a cold goalie, and you're also risking his health. In a lot of ways it's like bringing CuJo in for overtime after V-Tosk plays an entire game. On the other hand, you've got some percentages that you're playing, and it's an interesting move because you start to make the coach and the other team think a little bit, distracting them and changing their mindset.

For be it from me to call it right or wrong. I think the move is questionable, and if it had worked we wouldn't be talking about this at all...or we'd be going on about how much of a genious Wilson is haha. All in all, the man took a chance at something, which was apparently fine by V-Tosk.

And I guess if it's fine by Vesa, I really have no say in the matter haha

I did get to catch the game the other night, another win for the habs! i hope kostitsyn is not injuried too badly, its hard to see players with that much talent out for such long periods of time, but atleast the team showed character getting a bit of revenge ie. Kostoplous, Laraque and Sergei.

As for the Gaborik rumor, i had heard hainey might be interested in him. I never heard Higgins Halak and a pick for him though, although I'm not surprised the price to get him. Its seems everytime a trade rumor hits about the Habs it involves Higgins Halak and pick. I think the team is fine where its at anyways. Tanguay is what we have all hoped for and even Robert lang is showing age makes no difference. Great Start so far!

Great work on the Habs articles. Personally, I think it's great that there's a team that's been going for 100 years strong and going for at least another 100 years :). It would be even sweeter to see them win a Stanley Cup this year as a way to mark their 100th year as a team, since the Buds don't have a chance :)

Here's the Gaborik situation as I understand it- Gabork and the Wild have come to terms on a dollar amount, but not a contract length; no doubt because of Gabby's nagging injury problems. The Star Tribune (local paper) is reporting that the Wild are not looking to trade Gabby- not yet anyways. Meanwhile Eklund posts a "rumor" on his blog--Gaborik and a Conditional #1 for Higgins and McDonagh. Frankly, just about everyone shot this down. I think I'll write an article on that eventually, but I have three papers for school due Monday, and usually writing extra isn't the thing to do. I hope this helps!
