I am a 23 year old law student and co-writer for the 2 year old "detroit4lyfe.blogspot.com" blog that I created with two of my best friends. It was originally an 'open' blog but it gradually developed into a sports blog because sports is predominantly what I think about. I am a die-hard Detroit fan, so naturally a greater number of my subjects will gravitate there.

Despite my love for writing, I am not positive how often I will be able to post because the opportunity will depend on my chances to break from studying. Nonetheless, I am wide open to constructive discussion, debate, and feedback- so please feel free to contact me.

Disclaimer: A lot of my writing can be very sarcastic in nature, and sometimes just downright made up. I hope you read enough of my work so that you can catch it and take it in at the same time. If you have an IQ higher than Britney Spears, I think you'll be able to catch it. And trust me, it's much more enjoyable if you do. Thanks again for reading.

He was already on there before the Lions signed him. I've been following him since his freshman year at UCF and have seen him play in person many times. He's the best QB I've ever seen play in person, bar none.

Okay guys, i'm running the roundtable this week.

Question is.....

What are the biggest needs for the Lions in the offseason and what two players would you like to see them select in the first round and why?

Make sure to your players/picks based on realistic draft projection, you can go to www.nfldraftcountdown.com to get an idea where guys are likely to fall.

As it sits now, we should have the #1 pick and somewhere between #16-#21 for the pick from Dallas.

Yeah, initially I saw this as purely a cap move, and from that point of view loved it. But more and more, I think this thing could work in the short term too. And who knows, if A.I. thinks they're heading in the right direction and likes his (albeit substantial) role from the bench, he might sign on the cheap next year to get that title of his. Lord knows he's got enough moolah!

It appears that Hilary got here before me.

We actually put the team or player's name (in this case, the Detroit Lions) so that it increases the article's presence in search engines. When someone searches "Detroit Lions" in a search engine, your article has a dramatically better chance of being near the top if the team's full name is in the headline (even better if it's at the front of the headline). So, the changes aren't for B/R readers specifically, they're just to increase the overall presence of your work on the Internet.

Hey Brian, glad you like the edits. I definitely see your point on the headline, and of course, as the author you have the final say. My reasoning with the headline tweak was to not have a leading tag (subject: description, e.g. Stephen Curry: The Sweetest Touch...), as is recommended by B/R guidelines. All in all, excellent article, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Gem Jefferson edits most of the college basketball stuff on here for now. He's great. Gives good feedback, makes all the stylistic changes, and doesn't screw with tags.

Mosang Miles also does a great job, but he doesn't do too much editing in CBB.

Hey man as a heads up, when you write something as good as your Stephen Curry thing, post the link on an editor's wall and ask for an edit. Articles won't appear on a league's front page til they've been editing by another person, so your great piece isn't getting the exposure that it should be.

I don't know exactly what the formula is for getting promoted Brian, but I think it has something to do with how many articles you write, how many comments you generate, and how highly rated your articles are. Keep writing and you'll get there soon enough! What happened with the roundtable? Did you not want to do it? You can lead the next one if you're interested.

Yeah Tuesday would be good. We all do this for fun so there shouldn't be any pressure on the deadlines. Believe it or not, I'm trying to finish my PhD this semester! Soooooo,
In all likelyhood, the Detroit Lions are looking at a top five draft pick and a new coach in the upcoming season. In celebration of management change, lets tell the new GM (whoever he may be) exactly what the Detroit Lions need. So here's the deal. Let's discuss what the Lions need most with a specific top pick in the draft, and maybe one savy free agent move. I'll write the intro and conclusion and will then be one of the round table members.

Next week, Keith will come up with the topic and then do the same. The week after, you will take the lead. I'm still looking for a forth, so if you have any good suggestions let me know.

How does that sound? Can you get me your analysis by Saturday night? Let me know,

Hey Brian,
I've enjoyed your Lions coverage! The BR guys contacted me to lead up the Lions community, and I told them I'd give it a shot. As such, I thought we might start a roundtable article every week with a number of the Lions writers weighing in on a particular question. One of us can come up with a topic, and the rest of us will contribute a paragraph spouting our opinion. Interested? I know we'll probably be losing readers throughout the season if the team continues to be miserable, but maybe we can keep them interested. There's only so much we can write about how much they suck.
