Gray Ghost's Bio

Born in the pristine southern city of Savannah, Georgia, I lived a Huck Finn childhood of fishing, shrimping, crabbing,and swimming in the intercoastal waterways of coastal Georgia. I grew up playing football, baseball, basketball, and boxing. I now live in the beautiful state of Idaho, and enjoy the drop-dead gorgeous outdoors here in the Gem State. What a place to live!!

Though I now live in Idaho, I remain loyal to the Georgia Bulldogs. I bleed Bulldog red and black! How 'bout them DAWGS!

I have written weekly articles for several newspapers over the past 15 years.

While I enjoy almost all sports - I LOVE College Football!!!

I normally leave the game day analysis to others here on B/R, as there are so many that are so good at that. I greatly enjoy reading their articles, and leaving comments. I try to respect other people and their opinions, even if I disagree.

My niche on B/R is the human interest editorial, an occasional foray into humor, and a glimpse of appreciation at sports history. I hope you enjoy reading my articles as much as I do writing them.

Yes, but they won. Penn State is the best team in the Big 10, right? People are saying Ohio State is better because they've been playing "better" football than us. We're better than them, though. I mean, when you beat a team, except in a clearly obvious upset where you just know you're better but you lost, like USC vs. Stanford and LSU vs. Arkansas last year, so we're better than Ohio State. People are making homer excuses to put Ohio State ahead of Penn State in the Big 10. Its so stupid. That's like saying Texas is better than Texas Tech or that OU is better than Texas. Or that Kansas is better than Texas Tech, its just not true. It makes me angry.

I could not agree more on the playcalling GG.

Where was the OC that was calling the LSU game? You're right about the red zone play calls. Why are we not handing the ball to a back that has infrared sensors for the endzone? If this is the last season we Georgia fans get to see Moreno in a UGA uni, I will be upset that he didn't have 20 TD's this season. We should be a run first offense, even with Stafford, who could also be gone after this season.

I'm a firm believer in the "use what works" philosophy. Moreno works. Stafford's fades haven't worked.

Wow. Another sqeaker in the books. But, as the old saying goes, a win is a win. Jeez.

I don't know how we can keep up this lack of defensive pressure and expect to win in the bowl game. And once again, penalties kept us with our backs against the wall the entire game. Rennie Curran has got to be the best sophomore linebacker I've ever seen. We're lucky we have such a strong tackler in the LB corps.

Georgia Tech's "perfect option" is looking more and more scary--I can't believe I'm admitting that.

Maybe a week off will give us a chance to tighten up our defense--so we can beat those NERDS for an 8th straight time!

Thanks for you note bud, I appreciate it.

Work and family has had me off the board for a bit. Just about to get back into the saddle with some baseball and hockey articles coming up soon.

And of course the football is there as well, though it seems most of the nation has it in for my Trojans. Oh well, such is life sometimes.

Meanwhile, in the last two days, major wildfires have struck Southern California and more than 100 homes have burned to the ground. It's gives one perspective making it hard to get too worked up over a losing a game when this kind of stuff is going down.

Wow. We tried to give another one away, GG. Jeez.

Those boys on defense better man up. The past three games have been the sloppiest in recent memory. I'm hearing rumblings calling for Willie's head. Uh-Ohh.

I can't believe an OLmen has as many INT's as our DB's do. Thank you Dobbs.

Rockwell Moreno: Why can't we give him the ball more on first down? And, why not give him the ball more in the redzone? There have been too many times where we pass on early downs in the redzone, and I think running #24 is just as good as an incompletion.

Stafford: Wow. 376-didn't know he had it in him. No INT's? Heck of a day.

MoMass: I knew I couldn't give up on him after those fumbles, and thankfully, neither could Stafford.

We just need to keep winning. I'm ready for the Auburn Tigers/War Eagles/Plainsmen.

Sorry, but I can't get over this. I've been watching PSU all my life, and I also watch tapes of the previous great teams, like the '86 team. This team, this year, is better than the '86 and '94 teams. This is our greatest team in history. Our one chance possibly in my whole life for me to go to an NC and watch PSU win one. Its over. That was one of my life dreams, and its ruined. I feel like I am dead. My heart has been ripped out, and my brain and nervous system no longer work. My life is basically over, no other team can match the greatness of this one. We have a great o-line, great QBs, great WRs, great RBs, great D-line, great LBs (as usual), and a pretty good secondary. We also have the best special teams in school history. We choked, and our best team ever is ruined. It has ruined my life, and I can't see myself getting over this until I am at the NC game with PSU in it, and winning it. This is the most depressing thing that has happened to me in my life. More depressing than the '05 Michigan cheat, more depressing than my great-grandmother's death. Penn State is my life, and it basically just died. I have not eaten or done anything since they lost. I've been on B/R a couple of times and I've been watching TV. My life is officially over until PSU wins a NC. Also, I * out and $@ out my curses. Not that that makes a difference. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I can't recover, I am either going to die or be put into mental rehab. Or PSU could win a NC and I would be cured. Once again, my life is temporarily over!

Ironic, I hit the goose pit at 5:30 this a.m., got my Snow limit by 20 after sunrise and had 'em for lunch and dinner.

I respect you a great lot and never can think bad of you. It so happens that I did not get a chance to look at the note on your BB, which one is it? Who is it? Do you need any help. Off late, we've had some issues on the F1 page too with the whole Lewis Hamilton being a colored driver debate and a couple of people have been called racist and all that. Requested the parties off line to be tolerant and receptive of other viewpoints. It is getting murky in there too...don't know why some people have to be so nasty :(
