  11. I would love to get in on those roundtable talks, if possible. If not, don't worry about it.

I wrote my own 10-page season preview with 10 predictions, and yes, on several, I am too much of a coward to make a bold projection about the winner.

Your division preview articles are top-notch. On a side note, an NBA Live 09 simulation predicts the Miami Heat will reach the NBA Finals and lose. You may already have heard that, but I nearly fell over laughing. Sure, it's a mere video game, but you would think such a technologically advanced game would give the Heat a little less credit, since that team has maybe four or five players who belong on a real NBA roster.

And also, how 'bout those same old Cavs? There is nothing quite like seeing LeBron go one on five at the end of a contest, again. One game will not decide how good Cleveland will be, but if last night is an accurate forecast, the Cavs still need to loosen up that crap offense.

  12. WWOD (What will Oden do?)

  13. Thanks for reading both previews. I know they were a bit verbose, but I tried to be thorough.

As for that missed free throw in Game 5, I agree that it was crucial, but still rather lambaste Dirk for his other mistakes. The Mavs had a 9 point lead in that game in the third quarter, and had numerous opportunities to seal it before Wade exploded, and they failed.

It's hard for me to rag on a player for missingone free throw when:
    a) after stepping outside of my Spurs fandom and how happy I was that the Mavs choked after making me miserable, Salvatore gifted Wade a handful of ridiculous calls.
He shot more free throws than the entire Mavs squad. Yes, Dirk needed to convert that unguarded point, but Miami missed 17 free throws, and four of those belonged to Wade. Miami might have won comfortably had the support players not clanged so many free points. That is hard to ignore.

Also, while free throws are important, the Spurs won their first three titles as one of the worst in the league in that department. You can miss free throws, a lot of them, and still win a championship. The Mavs, especially Dirk, had opportunities after that miss and blew them all. That concerns me more.

As for Artest, Adelman thus far has started him. I am not smarter than Rick Adelman, so if he thinks Artest serves the Rockets better as a starter, then great. I just think he could transform what has been a weak second unit into one of the NBA's best.

Thanks for your insight, as usual. Might I recommend ignoring yungCaucasoid for good? I supressed the urge to respond to him in your Southwest Division preview because I knew that he would either ingnore my argument and insult me or not respond at all.

Did he not notice you slam Nowitzki, the most prominent white-skinned athlete in the NBA, in your article and in responses to Calean? Why was he agreeing with Calean, who was arguing that Nowitzki, a white player, should be ranked higher on the list, when he thinks most white players are deadweight? That troll is so confusing and has proven not worth anyone's time. Now he's decided to rant that Chris Paul and Deron Williams lack the same mental toughness as Isiah Thomas, Tony Parker and Magic Johnson. Hmmm.

And, I can pontificate that image of Yao limping off the court in China's final game after the Olympics. It's called fighting through post-surgery pain to represent your country in its proudest moment in the last 25 years!

I responded here, because Caucasoid doesn't seem to read writers' bulletin boards.

  14. Whos your top coach?

  15. Thanks for helping lead this great online community.

If you have some time, would you mind glancing at my Mavericks and Rockets previews?

You can find them just by clicking on my profile.

They are long, and some would say verbose, but I think they give an accurate picture of both teams this year. I am sick of the Kobe vs. MJ articles and wish the season previews were getting better play on the NBA page.

Your Southwest Division preview was sterling. Great job on that.

I will finish my Spurs preview sometime this weekend, completing my sweep of the Texas triangle, which I know as well as anyone from living all over Texas, I hope.
