Jerry's Bio
I am currently the sports editor at the Northern Star on the campus of Northern Illinois University. I am a senior journalism major with a minor in English. I have been writing for newspapers for the past seven years now, covering everything from features and events to sports and hard news. I recently worked as a campus reporter for the Star where I helped cover the Feb. 14 shootings at NIU. I most recently was a sports writer there, covering club sports and also stringing with our men's soccer, volleyball and football teams before becoming editor for this coming semester.
I can be reached at jerry.burnes@gmail.com.
