Man, it's always good to see the Celtics beat up on the Knicks.  I'm still a little bitter about the Super Bowl, so I love it when we beat any New York team.

We finally got to see some decent minutes from Brian Scalabrine. He played okay, scoring eight points, three rebounds, and an assist. He also hit a huge three-pointer with 1:14 left after New York was starting to make a run.

Powe also had a nice game coming off the bench. With Pierce on the bench for the entire second quarter, Powe and Ray Allen took care of most of the scoring.

It was a higher scoring game than most people might have expected. The final was 110-101. Overall, I am very pleased to see how well our team can still play without KG.

The Chevrolet Players of the Game were:

  • Paul Pierce—20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists
  • Wilson Chandler—23 points, seven rebounds, and one assist

"I'm just real curious to see what those guys will be saying if we weren't in a basketball league and didn't have referees," Knicks forward Quentin Richardson said.

"I mean, it wouldn't be the same story. I mean, they are the world champions and rah, rah, rah, but the tough part I don't factor.

"I come from a neighborhood where you can say what you want to say, but until you do something, it don't mean nothing."

Okay, tough guy, why don't you stop running your mouth and go out there and do something then? You want to see tough? Try getting stabbed 11 times in the back and coming back less than a month later to play in the opening day game. You wish you had half the toughness Paul Pierce has.
