The right guy won. Dustin Pedroia has won the 2008 American League Most Valuable Player Award.
In my opinion, this is absolutely the right choice. Pedroia led the Red Sox to the final game of the ALCS, only to fall to the Tampa Bay Rays. In doing to, he displayed qualities that went beyond his stats for the 2008 season.

As I mentioned in my endorsement of Pedroia last night, Dustin plays the game the way it is supposed to be played. He sprints down the first base line for every type of contact, and he is never afraid to get his uniform dirty.
As a Yankee fan, I see Pedroia play up close about 18 to 20 times a year. And I could say, without hesitation, that with the way this little guy leads, it is hard to believe that he is only a mere 5'9". He plays as if he were a giant.
In short, after showing support, I must say,"congratulations, Dustin." Keep on keepin' on.
