I recently went to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, with my family. The favorite part for my brother was the Vince Lombardi trophy (that's him in the photo).
For any football fan, winning the Super Bowl is the best thing that can happen. However, ask a baseball fan what he would rather win, he'd say the World Series.
I'm asking you, the Bleacher Report Community, to tell me what championship means more. Here's the different championships you have to choose from. I know you can't compare sports, but it's a question that's been bugging me for a while.
1. The Super Bowl
Sport: Football
Last season's winner: New York Giants
The Super Bowl is the biggest and most anticipated night in the NFL. Held in February, it pits the best of the AFC against the best of the NFC. The winner gets the Vince Lombardi trophy and bragging rights for the next season.
2. The World Series
Sport: Baseball
Last season's winner: Boston Red Sox
The World Series is held every October and is often called the Fall Classic. The best team from the American League play against the best team from the National League. Whoever wins the best of seven games gets the trophy and is called the best baseball team in the world.
3. The Stanley Cup
Sport: Hockey
Last season's winner: Detroit Red Wings
Unlike other major trophies, there is no new Stanley Cup each year. Instead, the old team gives it to the new team. The best teams from the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference face off in a series of seven games. The winner of the best of seven takes home the cup.
4. The NBA Finals
Sport: Basketball
Last season's winner: Boston Celtics
The NBA Finals is a highlight in my town. I don't know why, it just is. The final puts the best of the East against the best of the West. The series is in a 2-3-2 playoff format with the best of seven taking home the trophy.
5. The NCAA Men's Basketball Championship
Sport: College basketball
Last season's winner: Kansas Jayhawks
Better known as March Madness, the NCAA men's basketball competition comes to its highpoint during the playoffs. During the month of March, 65 teams have a shot to make it to the final. Yet, only two do make it. The team who wins the final game is known as the best NCAA basketball team in the country.
6. The BCS National Championship Game
Sport: College football
Last season's winner: LSU
Ok, so the current playoff setup is a mess. It's still not fixed yet. Anyways, the BCS Championship brings the top two ranked teams in the nation together to fight it out for numero uno.
So there are the choices my friends. It's your turn to choose which championship you think means more.

I'd say the NCAA basketball championship...just surviving that tournament shows the true character of a team. And more often than not, the kids are playing for the name on the front of the jersey.
I just enjoy the unbridled joy that players show after winning. Seeing Mateen Cleaves celebrate in 2000 still gives me goosebumps.

I would go with NCAA basketball championship too...
Btw, do you know ESPN made a list "The 101 Things Every Fan Must Experience Before They Die" which didnt include Super Bowl in it ?? Not only that the writer even put Super Bowl experience at #1 for the fans to give a miss!!!

I have had friends who were there and they said the game sucks. It is a complete stunt. It is so hard to get tickets that no real fans can be there so it is all celebs and rich folks who do not care about the game or the teams. What could be worse for a game. And then it also lasts sooo long because of the ridiculous commercials.
NCAA championship is what it is all about! From the sweet 16 on, you do not have a bad game. What could be better?

I agree. Somehow battling in a 65 team bracket, where one game equals a trip home is pretty intense. There is no series, no second chances, or double elimination. You have to bring your best every game.
I agree with Joe about the name on the front is more important than the name on the back. That and the fact that they are doing all this at such a young age is pretty cool.

I think the Stanley Cup means the most. Hockey being my favorite sport I guess I'm inclined to think that, but I think it has the most prestige, I mean look at the size of it, it's definitely the biggest trophy out of all that are mentioned. It's also passed on from year to year as you mentioned making it historical which gives a lot of players great pride to hoist the cup when they win it.

true. its the oldest trophy around. and the only one in which they dont make a new one each year. so thats something.

None of the above....I would rather win an Olympic Gold or the AP for (college football championship). The BCS trophy will not be around in ten years, but the AP has been around forever. And nothing like an Olympic gold...it means you truly are a world champion!

hm, interesting. when you say it like that, its true.

Not a soccer fan. But no World Cup?
That said, I'd take NCAA Basketball.
