5. Fernando Torres (Liverpool)

A brilliant through-ball by Xabi Alonso was met by Robbie Keane's left-foot, a lofted cross, inches from the touch-line which found Fernando Torres, unmarked on the far-post and the Spaniard's volley was unstoppable for Tim Howard.

4. Antonio Valencia (Wigan Athletic)

City failed to clear the danger from a free-kick and Valencia controlled the ball 30-yards out, before lashing a shot past goalkeeper Hart into the far corner of the net.

3. Ashley Young (Aston Villa)

A brilliant free-kick from 20 yards out, stung the back of the net. Ashley Young's strike was pure class.

2. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Cristiano Ronaldo's back-heel found Rooney, the Englishman checked his shot, strode past his marker and brilliantly placed the ball into the corner of the net.

1. Geovanni (Hull City)

Geovanni collected the ball on the left, cut inside Walcott and let fly with a rocket into the top corner from 30 yards.

"AMAZING"!

  1. Bosingwa's goal was pretty good too for a defender lol...

    1. Not good enough for My Top 5 :p

  2. Nice picks .. nt sure abt the ranks though! Geovanni surely struck the goal of the season till now!

  3. Oh Geovanni and his rocket shot, could he not have saved it for next week :-( It was a class goal though, it is what he brings to Hull. Perhaps his willingness to shoot from further back than 5 yards might rub off on the Arsenal players?

  4. I think Valencia's should be number one, just as good as Giovani's except with the addition of making Micah Richards look stupid, just before unleashing the Rocket! Keeper didn't even move.
I can't watch Giovani's goal, it hurts that a) even Man city's rejects are scoring screamers, and b) just as he shot I said "what a waste, he should have passed", it hit the net b4 I finished.
Some great goals this week, the EPL yet again showing why it's number 1.

    1. "what a waste, he should have passed", it hit the net b4 I finished...Thats hilarious!

  5. valencia's should be ranked above young's in my view, but apart from that, i agree with you salaar. if your doing this now, then i'll just stick with the top five players of the epl weekend. salaar's top five goals, and yoosof's top five players. that works out quite nicely. anyway, good article salaar, good choices.
