Great teams arise form the effort of great players. Great players will often form trios for which the great teams will be forever enshrined in history.
The 80’s Lakers, the 60’s Celtics and the 90’s Bulls all laid their claim as dynasties with the determination and commitment of their players.
Now lets take a leap into the 21st century and see which trios will assist their team in a title run or maybe even a date in NBA lore.
5.) New Orleans: Chris Paul, David West, Tyson Chandler
Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in the league as he showed in his MVP race against Kobe.
West adds versatility at the power forward spot and with the assist specialist in Paul, he can only get better.
Tyson Chandler is a dominant force at center demonstrating an ability to attack the rim for both dunks and rebounds. The right-hand man for Paul, Chandler is at the heart of the Hornet’s pick-and-roll play.
Add Peja Stojakovic to the mix and you have yourself an elite team.
4.) Houston: Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Ron Artest
If Ron Artest can be kept under control and Yao Ming healthy, the rockets may get further than the first round of the playoffs.

Defense shouldn’t be an issue. The league’s second best defensive team just got the best perimeter defender in the league. Ah Oh, watch out Westarn Conference!
The heat and sweat of the conference’s competition is just about to get even more splendid for us all.
T Mac wont be only the guy making the big points now with Artest in the game and that will be big…. Let me rephrase that, it will be HUGE! The offensive burden will definitely not be McGrady’s load to bare alone.
3. San Antonio: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili
Lets face it, Duncan isn’t getting any younger but I am not counting these guys out just yet.
They did take out my 5th ranked trio to reach the Western Conference finals and they have accomplished much together.
Ginobili is renowned for his performance not just in the NBA but globally as well. Parker has been a vital part of all three of the Spur’s championships.
2. Los Angeles: Kobe Bryant, Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol
The only reason this trio isn’t no. 1 is the uncertainty of Bynum. Yes of course if he does return to his exhilarating performance (17.6 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 2.1 bpg) before injury, you can only look for nothing less than greatness.
With Gasol & Lamar Odom returning to their original spots of Power Forward and Forward expect this team to make another shot at the title.
By the way, that inexperienced ‘Bench Mob’ that the Lakers had last season has just got that experience and not to mention that bitter taste of losing in the finals.
1. Boston: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen
Two great closers/ perimeter shooters (Pierce & Allen) with the 7 foot KG being an outstanding defender & rebounder = a ring. That’s all that can be said at this moment.
I’m happy KG got the ring. After years of disarray, he finally made his hard work pay off.
As for Paul, his arrogant butt wouldn’t get shit from me!
If you still think you are the best player in the world, one Finals MVP wont cut it, man. I thought all the best players were in Beijing?
There is one thing to be confident but a whole different aspect in just being plainly stupid.

The Lakers have the best trio. Kobe, Pau and Bynum is a dominant big three. Kobe is the best player in the game, Gasol is one of the 7-8 best power forwards and Bynum is a great center at both ends of the court.
